Scholarship details:

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field. While they may be currently enrolled in a master’s or PhD program, they must be available full-time throughout the MPI internship.
  • Candidates should have a strong interest in migration, asylum, or integration.
  • They must also demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills in English, which is the primary language used by the staff.
  • Applicants must be capable of working both independently and as part of a team, with the ability to multitask.
  • Proficiency in additional languages besides English and the ability to use Microsoft Access are preferred.
  • Experience with quantitative, qualitative, or policy research is also advantageous.
  • Interns are expected to work a five-day schedule totaling 38 hours per week in the office, with the possibility of telework twice a week after two months.
  • Only applicants who are eligible to work in Belgium will be considered for the MPI Research Internship.

Responsibilities of Research Interns:

  • Contribute to overall research efforts.
  • Assist MPI Europe team members, including senior management, with various tasks.
  • Help disseminate publications and research findings.
  • Attend and summarize relevant public and private events.
  • Provide support for administrative tasks.
