Eligibility Criteria:

  • Applicants must be citizens and residents of a participating country (as listed on the official website) and should apply for the Australia Awards Scholarships from their country of citizenship.
  • Applicants must not be Australian citizens, permanent residents of Australia, or apply for a visa to live in Australia permanently.
  • Applicants must not be married, engaged, or in a de facto relationship with someone who holds or is eligible to hold Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residence.
  • Current military personnel are not eligible to apply for these Australia scholarships.
  • Applicants who have previously received a long-term Australian Award are ineligible unless they have lived outside of Australia for twice the duration they spent in Australia. For example, someone who previously held an Australian Scholarship for four years must have lived outside of Australia for eight years to be eligible for another scholarship.
  • Applicants must meet all specified criteria of the program or field, such as work experience requirements for certain countries.
  • Applicants must also fulfill the admission requirements of the host university.
  • The Australia Government Scholarship 2026 may be revoked if the recipient fails to meet the visa requirements.

Application Process:

  • There are two ways to apply for the Australia Awards Scholarships : through the online portal or by email if the portal is unavailable. However, online applications are preferred.
  • To start, click on the Application link below. You will need to select your home country from the list and review the user manual or application guide for the OASIS application system.
  • Download the required supporting documents, including the CV template, from the official website manual. After downloading the CV template, fill it out with your academic details and personal information.
  • The portal will ask you several questions to determine your eligibility for the scholarship.
  • Go to the Online Application System (OASIS) and register using your email address. You will receive an email with a temporary password for your first login. After logging in, create a new password and save it.
  • Once logged in, go to the ‘Home Menu’ and select ‘Applications.’ Then, click on ‘Create New Application.’ Choose the Australia Awards Scholarship 2026 and click ‘Next.’ Fill in your personal details, contact information, spouse details (if applicable), emergency contact details, proposed study program, qualifications, language proficiency, employment history, supporting documents, and statements. Use the checklist on the left side of the screen to track your progress. A tick mark will appear for completed sections, while a cross indicates incomplete sections.
  • In the ‘Proposed Study Program’ section, click ‘Add’ to enter your university and course preferences. Make sure to research universities and courses beforehand.
  • Take your time to fill out the application. You can save it as a draft and update it later, but ensure you submit it before the deadline, as draft applications will not be considered.
  • Review your application carefully before submitting it, as you cannot make changes after submission.
