Fully funded scholarship for the spring 2021 intake from Gwangju Institute of Science and Technology (GIST) South Korea.
GIST is offering a fully Funded, all expenses covered scholarship in South Korea for their spring 2021 intake. The GIST International Scholarship in South Korea is offering Master Degree Programs, Ph.D. Degree Programs, Integrated MS. and Ph.D. Program.
The Normal Duration of the GIST Master Scholarship is 2 years; while for GIST Ph.D. Scholarship is 4 years.
Gwangju University scholarship is a Fully Funded Scholarship to Study in South Korea. The University will cover all the Financial Expenses, such as:
- Tuition Assistance (All students): Tuition Fully Supported of 3,415,000 won per semester.
- Monthly Stipends (All International Students):
- Student Allowance: 140,000 ($119) won per month for Master students, 295,000 ($250) won per month for Ph.D. students.
- Meal allowance: nearly 100,000 ($85) won per month.
Students should have completed at least nine credits in the previous semester for the above two.
- International student allowance: 120,000 ($102) won per month. GPA of 3.0 or higher (out of 4.5) in the previous semester.
- Research Assistantship (All students participating in research projects):
- 4,820,000 ($4096) won per year of M.S.
- 11,480,000 ($9757) won per year of Ph.D.
- Health Insurance (All International Students):
- 60% of the Korean National Health Insurance fee is supported.
- Annual Medical checkup
- Flight Reimbursement (All Incoming International Students): Reimbursement for a one-way flight to South Korea.

- An official score report of the TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC or TEPS
- A certificate of English language proficiency issued by your home university (for Conditional Admission only)
- A copy of applicant's passport

At the beginning of the first semester at GIST, all admitted students pay a Matriculation Fee. This is non-refundable fee of 680,000 won, which will provide access to a variety of GIST programs and services at no additional charge. This payment is due at the time of enrollment.
But GIST may waive the Matriculation Fee for those who have financial difficulties. If you wish to apply for a waiver, please fill out the Matriculation Fee waiver application in the online application form as stated above, and mail a recommendation letter written and sealed by your department chair of the current/last university you attended to the Section of Student Services. The Admissions Committee at GIST will review the application and the notification will be made along with the admission review results.
