The Institute of Political Studies of Paris, commonly known as Sciences Po, is a large public institution of a scientific, cultural and professional nature in the fields of human and social sciences, in particular law, economics, history, sociology. and political science.

In order to welcome the best international students from outside the European Union, Sciences Po offers the Emile-Boutmy scholarship to allow them to complete their studies in social sciences through undergraduate or Master’s degree programs.

What is the Emile-Boutmy scholarship?

The Emile Boutmy scholarship is a scholarship in the form of financial aid to enable students to complete their studies either in the three-year Bachelor program based on social sciences or in the Master program (2 years) in one of the valid Campuses.

What does the scholarship cover?

The Emile Boutmy scholarship can take several forms and partially covers tuition fees and / or living cost annually. The scholarship amounts are decided by the admission and it is renewed each year according to the performance of the student.

For the undergraduate program, a grant of tuition fees varying from 3000Euros to 7300Euros per year and / or a living cost of 5000 Euros. Exceptionally, a scholarship of € 19,000 may be granted to cover the three years of study.

Regarding the Master program, a tuition fee grant ranging from 5,000 Euros to 10,000 Euros per year and / or a living cost of 5,000 Euros.

Note that, generally for students whose parents' tax residence are not located in the European Economic Area will have to pay € 10,700 / year for undergraduate programs and € 14,700 / year for master's programs. (As you can see on the official website here). The tuition fees will then be reduced according to the amount obtained with the scholarship.

Conditions / requirements of the scholarship

  • The scholarship is awarded on the basis of the academic excellence of the candidate.
  • It also takes into account the financial needs. Students are eligible if they have never lived in France, if they come from a country outside the European Economic Area, with non-European tax residence.
  • Applicants must have already been accepted on an undergraduate degree or master's degree program at Sciences Po, i.e. they have already registered and been accepted.
  • The Emile Boutmy scholarship is not awarded automatically; candidates must apply for the scholarship via the corresponding section of the Sciences Po registration form.

Registration deadline:

  • For the bachelor program: February 28, 2021
  • For the Master program: December 6, 2020
